Tristan

The British television series All Creatures Great and Small is one of my favorite places to ogle well-constructed and interesting hand knits.  This design was inspired by an interesting green cardigan worn by Peter Davison’s character in the second series. Its use of garter stitch combined with garter ribbing made for a unique and appealing design. Using those design elements, I have created this interpretation of Tristan’s cardigan; transformed and updated for today’s tastes.

Tristan is an intermediate pattern , it is knit bottom up, using seamless construction with raglan sleeves, integrated button bands and a unique collar application.  If you are not familiar with i-cords, it is worth practicing on a swatch first.

Special thanks to model Jack and photographer Joe of Joseph J. Lee Photography for the wonderful pictures!
